Fran Yu, MD, Ph.D, Family Physician

Education:

Board-certified in Family Medicine and earned her Doctor of Medicine from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences in China. Dr. Yu completed her residency at Maine Dartmouth Family Practice in Augusta, ME.

Experience:

Before her residency training, she received additional residency training in Neurology in China and then earned her PhD in Neuroscience in Japan. Prior to joining symbeo, she was a primary care physician working in Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. Dr. Yu is able to treat patients of all ages.

Deborah Niles, MD, FAAFP, Medical Director

Education:

Dr. Niles is board-certified in Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practices. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now Drexel College of Medicine) in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of UMDNJ in New Brunswick.

Experience:

In addition to being Medical Director of symbeo, Dr. Niles is currently a Primary Care Physician for Student Health Services at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also the lead Medical Director for CVS MinuteClinic in Philadelphia. Dr. Niles also serves as a consultant note rater for the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Personal:

Dr. Niles was born in London, England, and came to the US at the age of 4. She grew up in the Bronx, New York.

Jose Maldonado, MD, FAAP, Medical Advisor

Education:

: Dr. Maldonado is Board-certified in Pediatrics and holds certificates in Pediatrics Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Advance Life Support. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from U.A.C.J in Mexico. He completed his residency at New York University , St Vincent Medical Center, in Staten Island, NY.

Experience:

In addition to advising symbeo on all medical matters, Dr. Maldonado is the Chairman of Pediatrics at the Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, NJ and an Attending Pediatrician and Director of Newborns at North Hudson Community Health Center. Dr. Maldonado is also a Board Member of the New York Presbyterian Health System’s Children’s Advisory Board.

Personal:

Dr. Maldonado is Vice President of Guardians of Healing, a non-profit organization which conducts medical missions to developing nations. Dr. Maldonado was born in the Dominican Republic.
